“Time flies, it is up to you to be the navigator” – Robert Orben
The new year dawned with so much of expectations and promise. Resolutions made, plans drawn up and waiting to be executed. A week has already passed and as the saying goes, Time is flying by.
Looking at my diary this morning, I realised that I had not even put down one word about what I want to do. As a student, it was easy to make a promise when life is easier – try and do a good job in exams, turn in my assignments on time, in short, be a better person than last year. But as an adult, it is whole new ball game. How do I be that better person than last year? What are the parameters?
I’ve always been a fit person when it came to health. Apart from the usual aches and pain that go with age, I can claim to be one of those lucky ones who cannot complain and can safely say that I do not have to grace the doors of the health centre very often. But I have decided I cannot be complacent and should be more active than I tend to be. Walks in the woods or on the beach happen to be my favourite past-time. Just being out in the open fills me with good vibes and makes me feel so alive. My new year’s resolution is to learn to play a new sport – golf, apart from the usual promises.
I have always wanted to learn the sport after all I’m a niece of two very dedicated golfers and live in the home of golf with courses just a stone’s throw away. No excuses there especially when I’ve got time to spare. It has been a very gentle introduction to the game with playing the role of a caddie, hitting a few balls at the driving range. Now that I have managed to get a set of ladies golf clubs, I don’t suppose I have any excuse. “Golf is good for the soul. You get so mad at yourself, you forget to hate your enemies!!!” – Will Rogers

Good one…hope you learn to play golf and master it soon just like everything else you do. New year’s resolutions have no meaning. It’s just a hype and also a increase in energy but slowly fades away. You should always keep a balance in life where you eat, sleep and workout in moderation…nothing less, nothing more. By that you do not get disappointed or disheartened…
