No one can ever take your memories from you – each day is a new beginning, make good memories every day – Anonymous
Every morning, I remember my Amma’s words – “Another day has begun, wonder where the time goes”. Whenever she said that, I used to think, why does she say that all the time, it is another day, so what? But now that I’m older, those words ring so true and reminds me every day, that time is not standing still, not waiting for anyone, just another day goes by.
Getting older meaning we have so many memories – both good and bad. Thinking about the good ones always brings a smile and a feel good moment. My sister and I chat almost every day or as often as we can, even though we are physically so far apart – in different continents! But we talk about our memories – bring up some vague topic of something that happened years ago and giggle and laugh about it – makes you feel young, and happy to know we did have a good life. It is very important to acknowledge that the life you have had so far has been good and made you a better person. Memories help to make you that person.
There are sometimes moments of sadness and those periods of despair but it is important to view them not as a failure but something to learn from. That wealth of knowledge one collects as we grow older is not lost or wasted, it makes you a better person.
We make new memories every day – something to look back and smile at the wonders of living. Something to share with loved ones, or just yourself, a nostalgic boost or a lesson to learn.
